Navigating all of the cards, RSVPs, meal choices, layouts, family dynamics, and details of a wedding can be stressful (which is one reason that the money spent on a wedding planner or coordinator is the best spent money of the day!). Hopefully this post gives you a bit of info that helps you keep the stress under control.

Place cards or Escort Cards or Both?

Place cards are cards at each assigned seat that tell your guests where to sit and your caterer what they are eating. Escort cards are placed on a table and guests take their card to help them find their way to their seat. 

• If you are having a plated dinner with choices, have place cards for sure. This ensures your caterer knows what each guest is eating and are aware of allergies. 
• Place cards streamline seating and make sure tables fill up properly instead of skipped seats. 
• Escort cards can be stand-alone or they can be part of the guests' favors! Double-duty is a great way to go. 
• Escort cards don't have to be cards - you can do a chalkboard or sign, a cute frame with names hanging on string, or any number of things. HERE is one of our Pinterest Boards to give you some inspiration.

Seating Charts - Table Layouts! 

Figuring out who sits where... Will the tables fit in the space? How do you make sure you're doing it right? There are some great softwares out there to help with this stuff now. We use AllSeated to help us create floorplans, keep track of guests' meals and seating location, and spacing of tables. You just need the layout from the venue,and you can place tables right in the software. I would recommend chatting with a pro to make sure you're leaving enough space, etc. 

• Use a software like AllSeated to organize, it'll keep the stress down. 
• Don't worry over every seating decision. They'll be sitting for an hour or two - It's OK if they don't all get to sit with their favorites. They'll get up and dance soon anyway!
